Bowling Green at work explains how Mayor Elaine Walker and others are planning to spend the money authorized by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 for Bowling Green, Kentucky projects.

  • Bowling Green Crime Lab: Efforts to bring a Kentucky State Police crime lab to the area – efforts that have stalled repeatedly over the years – have recently been resurrected. [1]
  • Community Action Buses: Community Action will be getting $1.1 million in federal stimulus money for four new buses and a maintenance and transfer facility.
  • Bowling Green Housing Authority: On March 19, it formally accepted $1.3 million in federal stimulus money for new roofs and insulated windows, and maybe 100 heating and air conditioning units on houses owned by the Authority.
