"Before being elected to the Kentucky State Senate Julie Carman Denton co-owned a small telecommunications business in Louisville. She attended Asbury College in Wilmore, Kentucky and began her studies in science and sociology before transferring to the University of Louisville where she graduated and trained as a dental hygienist. Julie practiced dental hygiene in Louisville and spent three years working for General Electric."
Denton has been a member of Leadership Kentucky, Council of State Governments, National Council of State Legislators and American Legislative Exchange Council. She has served in the Kentucky Senate since 1995.
