House Bill 232 (2010)

House Bill 232 (or BR 1125 2010) was introduced on January 11, 2010 by Representatives Tom Burch and Reginald Meeks to the 2010 General Assembly.

It is an act relating to the operation of a motor vehicle.

BR 1125 proposes to create a new section of KRS Chapter 189 to define terms, including "personal communication device"; prohibit the use of a personal communication device to send or receive verbal or text communications by the operator of a motor vehicle; provide limited exceptions; amend KRS 189.990 to provide for a warning for the first violationa fine between $20 and $100 for subsequent violations.[1]
