Born July 15, 1953, Sen. Jimmy Higdon represents District 14, which covers Marion County, Mercer County, Nelson County, Taylor County and Washington County. Higdon earned a bachelor's degree from Morehead State University, and also served in the United States Army Reserve. He is the owner and operator of Mechant-Higdon’s Foodtown, and is a member of Kentucky Grocers Association Board. Higdon is also a member of the Marion County Economic Development Board and Lebanon-Marion Co Industrial Foundation Board. He has served in the Kentucky Senate since 2009. Prior to the his Senate election, Higdon was in the Kentucky House of Representatives for six years.
