The Kentucky Kentucky Instructional Results Information System was an assessment tool used to discern the progress and performance made by Kentucky's students and was directly related the the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA) in 1990. Stagnant results with test scores prompted an audit of the system in 1995 and KIRIS was eventually replaced with its active successor, the Commonwealth Accountability Testing System (CATS), in 1998.
