The Lincoln Trail Workforce Investment Board will receive $1.5 million from President Obama's stimulus plan for an eight-county area that includes Hardin County. Of that, $565,000 will be spent in an environmentally friendly summer work program for your ages 16 - 24, according to Sherry Johnson, who will implement the program for the Workforce Investment Board. Public or private sector organizations will bid to establish community service programs that are green.

Also, funds will be provided to citizens to have lost their jobs during the current recession. Replacement jobs will include tuition help for those attending a technical college or a workshop to aid job seekers who want to learn how to write resumes.
