Born March 21, 1954, Rep. Reginald Meeks (D) represents District 42, which covers part of Jefferson County. Meeks earned a bachelor's degree from Wabash College and a law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law. He currently works as the Director of External Programs for the College of Arts and Sciences at the University of Louisville, while also teaching political science and history. In 1983, Ebony magazine named Meeks one of the "50 Young Leaders of the Future." He is a founding member of the Kentucky Black Caucus of Local Elected Officials, and is a member of various organizations such as the National Conference of State Legislatures and Kentucky Association of Blacks in Higher Education. Meeks has served in the Kentucky House of Representatives since 2001.
