Born in 1966, Rep. Sannie Overly (D) represents District 72, which covers Bath County, Bourbon County, part of Fayette County and Nicholas County. Overly earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Kentucky in civil engineering, and worked for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet while later earning a law degree from the University of Louisville. She has practiced law in Paris, Kentucky since 1999, and is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association and is the president of the Bourbon County Bar Association. She is also involved in several organizations, including Kentucky Society of Professional Engineers, University of Kentucky Alumni Association, Daughters of American Revolution and Bluegrass Conservancy. Overly is also on the board of trustees for Bourbon Community Hospital. She has served in the Kentucky House of Representatives since 2008.
