Born June 14, 1967, Sen. Brandon Smith represents District 30, which covers Bell County, Harlan County, Leslie County and Perry County. Smith is the vice president of Hazard Food Mart Inc., owner of Daniel Boone Investments and is the retail operations director for Perry County Oil. He is a Master Mason and Shriner, and a past president of Hazard's Lion Club. He is also involved with Boy Scouts of America as a district commissioner and den leader. Smith has served in the Kentucky Senate since 2008. He served in the Kentucky House of Representatives 2001 through 2008, and as Hazard City Commissioner from 1993 until 1998.
