Senate President

Born May 28, 1953, Sen. David Williams (R) represents District 16, which covers Clinton County, Cumberland County, McCreary County, Monroe County, Wayne County and Whitley County. He is the current senate president. Williams earned a bachelor's in graphic arts from the University of Kentucky, and then earned a law degree from the University of Louisville. He is a member of both schools' alumni association. He is an attorney, and is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association. Williams was the minority caucus chair in 1990 and the minority floor leader in 1999. He has served in the Kentucky Senate since 1987. He served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1985 until 1986.
