Born Jan. 28, 1940, Sen. Dan "Malano" Seum (R) represents District 38, which covers part of Jefferson County. He is the majority caucus chair. Seum is a graduate of the National Guard Officers’ Candidate School, and works in property management. He has served in the Kentucky Senate since 1995, and before that from 1989 until 1992. He was the majority whip 2005 through 2007. Seum has also served in the Kentucky House of Representatives from 1982 until 1988.
