Born April 5, 1941, Sen. Jerry Rhoads (D) represents District 6, which covers Hopkins County, Muhlenberg County and Ohio County. He is the minority whip. Rhoads received a bachelor's degree from Murray State University and a law degree from the University of Kentucky. He works as an attorney for Rhoads and Rhoads, PSC. Rhoads was a captain in the United States Army. He is a current member of the American Legion, Downtown Kiwanis, Hopkins County United Way (vice president), Hopkins County Revenue Task Force (chair) and Building Drive (chair). He has also served on various boards, including UK College of Law Alumni, as well as former president for many organizations, such as the Kentucky Academy of Trial Attorneys. Rhoads has served in the Kentucky Senate since 2003.
